Lessons
Weekly piano lessons are offered in a 30, 45, and 60 minute time slots. Young beginner students may sign up for 30 minute lessons and progress to 45 minutes. Intermediate and advance students should sign up for 45 or 60 minute lessons. Competitive track students and Certificate of Merit participants level 3 and up are required to sign up for 45 minute or 60 minute lessons.
Performance Opportunities
Recitals
The studio holds two recitals per year, Winter recital in December and Spring recital in June. Students are encourage to participate in these recitals. These formal recitals provide wonderful opportunities for students to showcase their work in the presence of family and friends.
Studio Class
Students will be able to practice performing their music for each other in a casual setting. Studio class usually includes theory games and activities, as well as music history.
Festivals and Evaluations
There are additional performance opportunities offered to serious students such as Festivals hosted by Music Teachers Association of California, and Junior Festivals hosted by National Federation of Music Club and Certificate of Merit Evaluations.
Tuition
The studio year runs from September-June. Monthly flat rate tuition is due on the first lesson of the month. It remains the same whether there are three, four or five weeks of lessons in a month. Vacation days are balanced out by fifth week. There is a $10 late fee for tuition received after 2nd lesson of the month. Please contact the studio for current rates.
Summer Lessons
Students are highly encourage to continue lessons during summer to avoid regression and big break in routines. Flexible schedule can be arranged to accommodate camps, vacations, etc. Students who signed up for at least 4 lessons during summer months will be guaranteed spot in the Fall.
Makeup-Up Lessons
Lessons missed due to illness and family emergency can be made up. One designated day per semester will be scheduled to makeup missed lessons due to illness. Lessons missed due to sports activities, social events, and no show cannot be made up. Please keep in mind that monthly tuition is based on your child's enrollment and not attendance.
Practice Expectations
To ensure progress, students are expected to practice daily, and come to lessons with completed assignments.
General guidelines for practice time: Beginner students- 30 minutes per day, Intermediate- 45 minutes per day
Late intermediate-advance-one hour or more per day. Students who wish to excel should allow for more practice time

Students are required to own or have access to an acoustic piano for daily practice. Learning on acoustic piano will help students learning proper technique, touch and sound. Even the most technologically advanced digital piano cannot match the touch and feel of the acoustic piano. Your piano should be properly maintained and tuned every 6-12 months.
